Candidate for Zoning Board of Appeals (alternate) | 2025

My name is Cinny MacGonagle a candidate for Alternate on the Zoning Board of Appeals. I have lived in town with my Lab, Maxie, for four years and have been an active member of the KWO and the Killingworth Democratic Town Committee for over two years.
I previously lived in Bethlehem Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. I chaired the Bethlehem Environment Commission, attended Planning Board meetings, made site visits, and reviewed Environmental Impact Statements for new developments. I assisted the zoning officer with interpreting the regulations of the NJ Highlands Act and served on the Open Space Committee helping to preserve numerous parcels by partnering with the state, county, and local non-profits to secure funding.
My education included a B.A. from Smith College and an M.A. from Rutgers University. My teaching career spanned K-8 grades in New Jersey public schools.
Sailing, swimming, kayaking, birding, and exploring Killingworth’s trails with Maxie are very much a part of my life here. I appreciate the beauty of our local forests and streams and understand the challenges of addressing the needs of the community while maintaining Killingworth’s rural character.
I am looking forward to making further contributions to the Killingworth community and view the Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate position as a good fit for my experience.
