William Joyce

Candidate for ZBA | 2025

William Joyce is running for a full seat on the Killingworth Zoning Board of Appeals after serving as Alternate for the past two years. A member of the Beechwood Senior Community, he participates in community activities and has involved himself in issues related to the concerns of seniors living on fixed incomes. He is now Chair of the Killingworth Committee on Aging.

Bill has a bachelor’s degree in science from Southern Connecticut University, is retired from Bax Global and Union Transport, and now works part time for Enterprise Car Rental.

For many years in Bethlehem, Connecticut, he was involved with their Inland Wetland Committee and raised grass-fed beef. He believes that it is important to have an agricultural flavor in rural communities.

Bill understands that zoning laws are important to Killingworth’s future as an attractive place to live and that good laws have protected its natural beauty. Development done in the right way by considering the rights of property owners and the health of the natural environment, is a positive he cherishes.

He has been active as the sole representative for the people of the Beechwood Community in Hartford fighting for the rights of residents of mobile homes here and statewide because of growing out of state ownership.
