Candidate for Regional Board of Education | 2023

I am running for reelection to the H-K Board of Education. You may be familiar with my work as chair of the board. I have previously served on the BOE as Treasurer and Vice Chair, and I have chaired the Finance, Personnel and Evaluation, and Strategic Capital Planning committees. I have helped make countless decisions that have contributed to our community’s families and to the district’s success.
I feel strongly about the value of a public education because I am the product of one, right up through college – with a BA in Business from the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Oswego. I currently serve on the SUNY Oswego Foundation Board, working for accessible public education for others.
For 25 years, I worked in financial services in three national firms, holding senior management roles including Regional President of a private bank. While working, I earned my Master’s degree from Columbia University Teacher’s College.
Locally, I serve on the board of the South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority. I’ve chaired Killingworth projects such as the Community Conversation on Education. I’ve worked on fundraisers to benefit the Killingworth Library, the KVFC, and Youth and Family Services.
As a politically unaffiliated voter and a 20+ year resident, I ask for your support on November 7 to allow me to continue to use my skills to serve our community and help our district and children grow.
